Sephora color pop-up store

For a while now, Illum, the lovely department store in the heart of Copenhagen, has had the make-up brand Sephora in its selection and I was thrilled when I saw that they had an Advent offer ... a Sephora color pop-up store for 330 DKK. So, of course, I could not resist and had to buy it since I was very curious and excited to try out all these different colours.

Here are some pictures of the box (with and without the packing):

I am sorry for the amateur pictures but I am an amateur photographer ;-)

Anyway, the box includes 64 different eyeshadows, 12 cream eyeliners, 6 eye top coats, 3 3-in-1 luminizers, 6 lip top coats, 48 lip glosses, 6 3-in-1 eye, lip and cheek creams and 3 blushes. All in all a very large range of colours and colours for everyone. I really like the box which includes also three applicators but unfortunately no description or something like that which states all the names and numbers of the colours. The colours can be used a few times, I guess at least 20 times, but after you have finished them up and you really like some colours that you would like to buy again, you do not really now the name and number of the colour. That is the only thing that bothers me.
Otherwise, I cannot wait to try the colours out :-)

a bit of nature...

Amager Fælled

Just a couple of pictures that I took this week during a walk through Amagerfælledparken. I already wrote about missing some nature living in the centre of Copenhagen, so therefore Amagerfælled is a little nice spot for me personally here in Copenhagen. Although I do not like the fact that you still can see all the tall buildings from Ørested etc. and hear the traffic noise. But it is a nice park for a Sunday afternoon walk.

gallery opening - Marius Budu

Last week, my friend Catalin invited me to a gallery opening event where he was taking pictures.
So I went to Galleri Krebsen situated in Studiestræde with one of my friends and we really liked the photographies by Marius Budu.
It was a lovely opening with a stunning performance by the handstand contortionist Julia Schmidt which was accompanied by Moa Karlsson on the cello (music written by William Smith who was there as well).
I was truely fascinated by Julia Schmidt. It is amazing how she can bend her body in every direction and express so much through that. Before I saw her, I had never really heard of contortionism but it is interesting art.

Catalin gave me some of the pictures he took, so I can use them for this post ... thank you very much, Catalin :-)

People who inspire me ... (part 1)

Feist

I decided to start this "people who inspire me..." series and the first person I want to praise is the singer-songwriter Leslie Feist, known as Feist to her fans :-)

I had known her for some time but I really discovered her only recently when I bought her latest album "metals" and fell in love with it. That was when I suddenly understood her music and her style. That was definitely a great moment for me. It is hard to describe but you simply need to listen to her music, preferably sitting on your window sill with a nice cup of tea and rainy weather outside.

a healthier life

As you get older, you start to think more about life and the way you live it.
I am 25 years old now and I know that there is still a lot that I want to do and discover. Living in the centre of Copenhagen, I have felt a bit stressed out lately and missed a quiet life and nature.
So sometimes I dream of living a quiet life in the country where I am surrounded by nature. Preferably in Bavaria where I come from. Here is a lovely picture of the Bavarian countryside:

On the other hand, though, I should be grateful for my present life here in Copenhagen with all my lovely friends, exciting spare time and new adventures.

Right now, I am somewhere in my life where I am still trying to figure out who I am exactly and that is an interesting stage and journey.

One thing that I would like to change in my life is that I am healthier in general. I often suffer from tonsillitis, colds, tiredness and so on. I feel as if I could have a healthier, more balanced life and that is why I have started to read more about natural medicine, medicinal herbs and healthy lifestyles.

Today I want to share this website that I came across and that I really like.

I hope some of you like it as well and find it inspirational to think about a healthier life.

I guess that if you are from the country and live in a city, you miss the quiet country life and you long for it. I am interested in your opinions. Please share and write me :)

Mission impossible: finding a flat in Copenhagen

For a good four weeks now have I been trying to find a flat or a room to rent in Copenhagen. I would like to stay living in the centre but some outskirts would do it for me as well. Some others, however, are simply too far out and too ugly. I looked at one room on Sunday .. I did not feel as if I was still in Copenhagen.
At the moment, I am crashing on my friend's couch (thanks a lot Ricky :) ) and it is really frustrating that I am spending money on websites like boligportal.dk, lejebolig.dk or findroommate.dk when no one replies or the flats or rooms are mysteriously already rented out the very same day the ads for them have been put onto the websites.
I am very fed up with this situation at the moment. Just keep hoping that a nice flat or room is coming up soon and is worth all that trouble.

Something about me ...

One of my good friends liked the idea that I started a blog. Unfortunately, I had to admit that I was not really good at bearing up my blog because I was busy or had no clue what to write about.
So my friend just said that I should write about me and my everyday life. It could be interesting to some people in the world out there.
Alrighty, so here we go ... I would like to write a bit more about one topic, namely: Psoriasis. I have had this skin disease since I was nine years old. And for me personally, it would be very interesting to get responses back from people all over the world with the same problem. Or some who have good friends or family with this problem.

In April, I had another episode and the psoriasis came back after two years. Mainly on my hands where everyone can see it, so I often feel uncomfortable when people looke at my hands. I also have some tiny spots of Pso in my face and on my legs but I'm still fighting them with a cortison ointment.
But as we all know: cortison is not a solution in the long run. Therefore, I decided to start taking the Fumaderm tablets again. I took them about two years ago and the psoriasis disappeared after only three weeks.
This all sounds amazingly good but I must say that these tablets came with some strong byeffects. Everytime I took them, I had to lay down for an hour because I had an almost unbearable strong headache and pretty intense hot flushes. I know that I might should have stopped taking Fumaderm but I could also see the progress on my skin.

So now, after light treatments and cortison ointments, I am so fed up of having Pso that I decided to take the tablets again. My doctor gave me prescription but warned me, however, that I should not continue taking them if byeffects appear. Moreover, I have to make very sure that I am not ill (which is hard for me since I always have a bit of a cold).

I will start taking Fumaderm on Monday and will hopefully update my blog with my experience. Anyone out there with experiences with Fumaderm? Would be interesting to hear.

My first Essie

I had heard a lot about Essie nail polish so I finally decided to buy one when I was in Germany last week (since those things are cheaper in Germany than in Denmark ;-)).
The latest collection available in German shops consists of four different colours. I chose the colour "action" and I must say: I am the latest Essie fan!!
The nail polish has a nice texture, is easy to apply and the colour is very strong (so no need to apply it several times for a nice outcome).

I can only recommend Essie nail polish!

Sunny days in Copenhagen

This summer has been one of the rainiest summers in years. That's why I was really glad when the sun came out last Sunday. Therefore my friend and I decided to buy some delicious ice cream and go for a walk around the lakes in Copenhagen. It was only around 20 °C but that is quite warm for us in Copenhagen this year ;-) I nearly felt as if I was about to getting a sunburn.

Summer Sale .. Part II

Today I went shopping again and I was incredibly happy to see that there was a big sale at Magasin.
A few weeks ago, I saw a lovely green handbag there but the price scared me a bit off. But today I was glad to find out that the bag was on sale. So I didn't hesitate to buy it .. the last one!!! ... and I saved 40 %!!!

Here is my new favourite handbag :-) a lovely green leather handbag by DKNY

Finally!!! Summer Sale!!!

These days I am more than happy because a lot of shops here in Copenhagen have great summer sale offers.
Today I bought some lovely necklaces at Accessorize and saved half of the price (I saved 309 DKK, wohoo!!)

There are, however, more shops that have great deals e.g. Vero Moda, Illum, H&M, Monsoon, Vila.
I will keep you updated on the front since I will be shopping some more this

The Cardigans concert

After years of having been a big fan of the Cardigans did I finally have the chance to see them in concert at Tivoli here in Copenhagen. And the best part of it was that I am the proud owner of a season pass, which means that I practically paid a few DKK for this concert.

Last Friday, two of my lovely friends and I met up three hours before the concert only to ensure that we would get a spot really close to the stage.

When they started to play, it was just beautiful (except for the drunk guy with his umbrella in front of us). I have seen a lot of concerts but this band is an amazing live band and Nina Persson is stunning. She has a truly good voice and fascinates her fans by her graceful appearance on stage.

I can definitely and undoubtably recommend to go and see them live if you ever have the chance.

And now ... the world's best photos taken with my iPhone ;-)

It's always rainy in Copenhagen

Hi there! My name is Kat, I'm 25, I live in Copenhagen and I'm starting this blog to share a bit of my life with you.
It's always rainy in Copenhagen - keep that in mind when you come to visit Copenhagen. A rain jacket should definitely be in your suitcase.
I live in the wonderful part of Copenhagen called Christianshavn which is famous for its lovely architecture and canals as well as the Freetown of Christiania.
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy my blog and maybe even give me some feedback.

Kat :-)
